To me, those are the most gratifying moments of, of what I'm doing or trying to do is when I'll meet somebody at a meet and greeted or at a show or, or, or just on the street and they'll be like, Man, that song really helped me. Now they were trying to hide me away from the temptations, sober companions, a sober tour manager, you know, blah, blah, blah, all this nonsense, you know, and I, some people need that. Warner Records. And he did until, until he just couldn't anymore. It's amazing now that you look back, it's, they were preparing you. Mike Sarraille: No risk, no reward. You know? I was out on stage the other night and there was about 12,000 people at the show. And, um, you know, and I truly believe if he had, if he had gotten the right help, he would still be here. But you know what, you know what, I just wanted to say this. Because it comes from yourself. He performed three touch-and-go landings before heading out over the Pacific Ocean. Um, but, uh, what I, what I did realize, I've come to realize this is, uh, you know, I always talk about how we, I, I led through love in the military and, and a lot of guys led the same way. John Rzeznik: Mike Sarraille: And what out the airplane? To sitting in, uh, desert, uh, uh, God, I'm forgetting. I agree. That's what I want to know. Well. So I had to, Now it took a while because I am an addict and I, you know, and I always will be, but when it finally got to a point, we were all out at dinner one night and one of the guys in the band was texting one of the other guys in the band, Where are we gonna go after John leaves? Yeah. Um, and it's coming back in this really amazing way. interests, activities, website visits Mike Sarraille: I, I found like 10,000 ways not to, uh, to, to do it, or, Yeah. Um, but we just weren't good for each other anymore. And um, you know, and I had, I had a, I had a therapist I was smoking pot with and, and like going over to his house and I'm just like, well, what is the end game here? They just internalized. And so they just stay in the victim right. Joahn Rzeznik is the founding member. But we, I mean, we have seen, but it's also, you know, so I've got a good clinical psychologist friend who says, you know, mental health issues have increased exponentially since World War ii. This is my life. Everyone walked away. And that's what's going on now. One victim was a NASA astronaut and another was the president-elect of a large physicians' group. And I, and I let him get in my head. They applaud them. Ive done it in a bunch of songs other than Iris, but it just felt right.. John Rzeznik: Interview: Goo Goo Dolls' Johnny Rzeznik | I Like Your Old Stuff Rzeznik had a strict Catholic upbringing in Buffalo's working-class East Side Polish neighborhood and attended Corpus Christi Grammar School. But I think with social media today, people can just sort of stay a victim. So did I, my my first experience.
